The upcoming iPhone 15 Pro is expected to come with 8GB of RAM and a storage capacity of up to 1TB, according to reports. The storage options for this iPhone will include 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, according to their sources of Macrumors.
Apple is sourcing NAND storage from several companies, including SK Hynix, Western Digital, Kioxia, and Samsung. There were speculations about a 2TB storage option, but no evidence supports this claim.
Another leak suggesting a starting storage capacity of 256GB for the iPhone 15 Pro appears to be incorrect; it will likely follow the storage options of the iPhone 14 Pro.
Regarding RAM, Apple is planning to use LPDDR5 DRAM, the same type found in their previous flagship devices. They tested two RAM configurations, 6GB and 8GB, supplied by Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix.
It’s uncertain which configuration will be used in the final production units, but it could depend on the phone’s storage capacity, with higher-capacity models getting 8GB. Recent reports indicate that the iPhone 15 Pro will indeed come with 8GB of RAM.
Apart from RAM, the iPhone 15 Pro will feature an upgraded A17 SoC manufactured using TSMC’s new 3nm process. Expected improvements also include a new titanium frame, USB-C charging, and a periscope zoom lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. In terms of pricing, the iPhone 15 Pro may cost approximately $300 more than the iPhone 15.
We will learn more today, as the Apple iPhone 15 launch event is scheduled. The event will begin at 10 AM PT, which is 10:30 PM IST.
