Sharp Corporation has introduced the AQUOS sense8, a new smartphone, in Japan. This phone features a 6.1-inch FHD+ IGZO OLED display with a brightness of 1300 nits and a smooth, 90Hz refresh rate.
It’s lightweight at just 159 grams and can withstand dust and water thanks to its IP68 rating. It’s also durable with MIL-STD-810G certification.
Under the hood, it runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 Mobile Platform, offering 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable up to 1TB with a microSD card. The device features a 5000mAh battery, providing up to 10 hours of use.
The camera setup includes a 50MP rear camera with 2x optical zoom and image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and an 8MP front-facing camera. It also supports HDR photography.
In terms of connectivity, it supports 5G/4G/3G/GSM networks, Bluetooth v5.1, Wi-Fi 5, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a display port. You can unlock it with facial recognition or a fingerprint scanner. The AQUOS sense8 runs on Android 13, with three major OS updates and five years of security patches.

Pricing and availability
The AQUOS sense8 will be available in Japan this autumn in three colors: Cobalt black, light copper, and pale green, with a price expected around JPY 62,150 (USD 416 or Rs. 34,680 approx.).
