Microsoft India has expanded its Microsoft Translator platform to include four additional languages: Bhojpuri, Bodo, Dogri, and Kashmiri. This brings the total number of supported Indian languages to 20, moving closer to the goal of accommodating all 22 official Indian languages.
The Microsoft Translator feature can be accessed through multiple platforms, including the Microsoft Translator app, Edge browser, Office 365, Bing Translator, and the Azure AI Translator API, which is used by companies like Jio Haptik and Koo. This update will impact approximately 61 million people across various regions in India and neighboring countries.
Microsoft employs Deep Neural Networks for language translation, allowing the platform to handle complex Indian languages with sensitivity to linguistic nuances.
Microsoft Translator now supports:

- Hindi

According to Microsoft India, this expansion holds significant promise for the nation. It enhances education and literacy, improves communication and governance, and generates economic prospects.
