Samsung Solve for Tomorrow: Top 3 Winning Teams announced

Samsung India has announced the champions of Solve for Tomorrow 2023, a competition dedicated to young minds and their innovative solutions.

The journey began in April, with the call for ideas from 16-22-year-olds addressing four key themes – Education & Learning, Health & Wellness, Environment & Sustainability, and Diversity & Inclusion.

Out of 6,500 teams from 500 locales, the top 30 emerged. These aspiring teams underwent rigorous training at IIT Delhi, followed by pitching their ideas to a Samsung panel, resulting in the selection of the Top 10 teams.

The diverse finalists hailed from places like Uttar Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal, Gujarat, Kerala, and more. A dedicated TV series, in collaboration with the News18 Group and JioCinema, showcased these innovative journeys.

The top three victorious teams are:

1. NIT Surat: This team developed ‘Sweep,’ an automated beach-cleaning robot designed to combat environmental waste on beaches. Sweep can detect, identify, and separate various waste materials for recycling, autonomously navigating difficult terrains.

2. Stemly: Hailing from Nagpur, Maharashtra, Stemly is on a mission to break gender stereotypes in STEM fields. Their conversational AI tool uses natural language processing to provide mentorship, encourage diversity, and offer personalized support in STEM.

3. Think: A team from Golaghat, Assam, created ‘Kavach,’ a versatile cooling and warming neckband using semiconductor technology. It regulates body temperature in various weather conditions, making it a practical solution for comfort.

Rewards and Recognition

These visionary teams received a combined prize of Rs. 1.5 crore to further develop their ideas. Additionally, they were honored with certificates, trophies, Samsung’s flagship Galaxy Z Flip5 smartphones, and a cash prize of Rs. 100,000.
