Google Play Games Beta on PC gets 4K gaming, Console controller support and more


Google has made an exciting announcement today, bringing updates to Google Play Games for an even better gaming experience. These updates include more games, a new search feature, and support for game controllers.

Play a Wide Selection

Google has expanded its game catalog to include over 3,000 games, featuring popular titles like Clash of Clans and Clash Royale. They plan to keep adding requested games based on player feedback.

Starting today, you can play games like Clash of Clans and Clash Royale on Windows 10 and 11 PCs. Your progress will sync seamlessly across different devices.

Quick Game Search

Google has responded to players’ requests for an easier way to find games within Google Play Games. They’ve introduced a search feature to help you quickly locate the games you want. In the “All Games” section, just type the game’s name into the search bar at the top.

Connect Game Controllers

With this update, Google is introducing support for console controllers in select games, enhancing the gaming experience. You can use controllers like Xbox S|X, Xbox One, PS5 DualSense, or PS4 DualShock with compatible games such as Asphalt 9: Legends and BADLAND.

Game Play in 4K

Google Play Games now offers the option to play in stunning 4K screen resolution on supported monitors. Players can choose from a range of screen resolutions that suit their gaming needs. To select a resolution, simply press Shift + Tab in any game.
