Samsung has introduced Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro — a limited edition phone that draws inspiration from the SGH-E700, a retro flip phone which was released 20 years ago in 2003. This was Samsung’s first to feature a built-in antenna
The Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro implements various distinctive features of the SGH-E700, such as the combination of indigo blue and silver colours, a UX design reinterpretation of 2000s pixel graphics and an exclusive animation on the Flex Window that portrays a cityscape with a touch of nostalgia.
This also comes in a unique package includes three Flipsuit cards featuring logos from different eras of Samsung’s history, a Flipsuit case and a collector card engraved with a unique serial number that will add to the product’s collectible value for purchasing customers.
Pricing and availability
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro is priced at 1,599,400 won (USD 1182 / Rs. 98,500 approx.) for the 512GB model and will go on sale starting from November 1st in Korea, the UK, Germany, Spain and Australia and from November 2nd in France in limited quantities through Samsung’s official website, Samsung.com.
To commemorate the launch of the ‘Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro’, Samsung will set up an exhibition space at the ‘Samsung Gangnam’ store in Korea starting November 1.
In addition, in collaboration with ‘Beongae Market’, a used trading platform company, ‘Y173’, a cultural complex located in Seongsu-dong, will be held from November 1 to 5, where users can experience Samsung’s innovation story in a variety of ways along with ‘Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro’.
