Samsung Galaxy devices gets Auto Blocker security tool

Samsung has introduced “Auto Blocker,” a new security tool for Samsung Galaxy users, enhancing device protection while offering flexibility to users.

Available through One UI 6 as part of Samsung Galaxy’s broader security and privacy enhancements, Auto Blocker provides users with additional security options as they explore the customizations offered by the Galaxy ecosystem.

Auto Blocker offers features like preventing app installations from unauthorized sources, known as sideloading. While sideloading can offer increased device customization, Auto Blocker allows users to activate security measures, providing protection against potential threats, particularly social engineering attacks like voice phishing.

This security tool includes app security checks to detect potential malware and can prevent unauthorized software installations via USB cable. It also enhances Message Guard, safeguarding users from Zero Click attacks, even for third-party apps.

Auto Blocker aligns with Samsung’s commitment to industry-leading security standards and empowers users to control their devices while upholding their security.

Samsung Galaxy users can access Auto Blocker on compatible devices with One UI 6, ensuring a safer and more secure mobile experience.

Regarding the announcement, Dr. Seungwon Shin, EVP & Head of Security Team, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics said,

At Samsung we constantly strive to keep our users safe from security attacks, and with the introduction of Auto Blocker users can continue to enjoy the benefits of our open ecosystem, knowing that their mobile experience is secured. We always seek to empower our users to choose for themselves what best suits their needs — rather than us deciding on their behalf, and Auto Blocker is no exception to that.
