Samsung Gauss generative AI model announced

Samsung has made a significant breakthrough in the field of generative AI by developing a new model called the Samsung Gauss. During the second day of the Samsung AI Forum 2023, which focused on generative AI, the company demonstrated the potential of this model.

The model is named after Carl Friedrich Gauss, the great mathematician who founded normal distribution theory, and it is made up of three major components: Samsung Gauss Language, Samsung Gauss Code, and Samsung Gauss Image.

The Samsung Gauss Language is expected to improve work efficiency by easing tasks like as email composition, document summarization, and content translation. When integrated into devices, it can also improve the consumer experience by allowing smarter device control.

Samsung Gauss Code, on the other hand, is a coding aid (code.i) that is optimized for in-house software development and allows developers to create effortlessly and rapidly. Through an interactive interface, it also provides features such as code description and test case development.

Furthermore, Samsung Gauss Image is a generative picture model capable of effortlessly generating and editing creative images, including style adjustments and additions, as well as converting low-resolution photographs to high-resolution images.

Availability

Samsung Gauss is currently employed for staff productivity, but it will be expanded to a variety of Samsung product applications in the near future to create a new user experience.

At the Samsung AI Forum 2023, Daehyun Kim, Executive Vice President of the Samsung Research Global AI Center, said,

We will continue to support and collaborate with the industry and academia on generative AI research.
