Samsung T5 EVO with up to 8TB capacity up to 460MBps transfer speed announced

Samsung has introduced T5 EVO portable SSD, a cheaper model to the T5 that was introduced back in 2017. This has the same compact design, but weighs 102 grams, twice than that of the T5. This offers up to 460 MB/s transfer speed and uses USB 3.2 Gen 2 (5Gbps) interface, compared to up to 540 MB/s transfer speed and USB 3.1 Gen 1 (10Gbps) interface in the T5.

The T5 EVO has a new black with a titan gray ring, so it can easily be fastened to any bag or piece of luggage. It also has a metal body and rubberized surface for extra protection against drops of up to six and a half feet, says the company.

It is built on Samsung’s latest V-NAND technology and comes with USB Type-C-to-C cable. The SSD is compatible with PCs, Macs as well as Android smartphones and tablets.
