Ather Energy, the Bengaluru-based EV maker, plans to roll out a family-oriented scooter in 2024, promising a more spacious and comfortable ride, Co-founder and CEO Tarun Mehta shared this exciting development on X (formerly Twitter).
Positioned as an entry-level model, the scooter aims to make the Ather family experience accessible to a broader audience with an affordable price tag.
Upgraded 450 Series in 2024
Simultaneously, Ather is revamping its acclaimed 450 series, known for its sleek design and exceptional performance. Scheduled for an update early next year, the new iteration is poised to be the pinnacle of refined performance, featuring best-in-class features.
Mehta emphasized that the 2024 Ather 450 range is not just an upgrade but a revolution in the riding experience. With clean, sharp, and minimalistic design principles, the scooter is set to redefine standards. While Mehta acknowledges the premium pricing, he assures potential buyers that the elevated features make it worth every penny.
The recently launched Ather 450 series includes the 450S and 450X models, priced from Rs 1.30 lakh and Rs 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, respectively. The top-spec Ather 450X boasts a 3.7 kWh battery, offering a claimed range of 150 km on a single charge and a top speed of 90 kmph.
Launch date?
The upgraded 450 series is scheduled for an early 2024 launch, while the family scooter will be launched later in 2024, with more details expected to unfold in the coming weeks.
