After rumours and teasers, vivo has confirmed the launch of S18 series that includes the S18 and S18 Pro as the successor to the S17 series in China on December 14th. The images show the phones in green and blue colours, and there is a large Aura light below the camera module.
Vice President of Branding at vivo, Jia Jingdong has confirmed the specifications of the S18 series phones. The company has also shared the design of the phone that shows a punch-hole screen, triple rear cameras and VCS text.
The standard S18 version will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 with a score of over one million points, says the company.
The S18 Pro will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC with a score of nearly 1.6 million, said the company. The phone has a 50MP Sony IMX920 flagship main camera, the same as the X100, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and the same 12MP 50mm 2X telephoto portrait lens as the X90s.
There is also a 50MP front camera with dual soft LED lights, 120Hz OLED screen and a 5000mAh battery. This will be the thinnest, 5000mAh mobile phone in 2023, says the company.
The company has shared portrait images, including images from the telephoto camera.
