OPPO Reno11 Series to launch in India on January 12

Update: OPPO has confirmed the launch of Reno11 series in India on January 12th at 11AM.

Earlier: After teasing the India launch, OPPO has started teasing the features of the upcoming Reno11 Series, after the launch in China, but there are changes in some specs for India. The company said that it will bring proprietary colour calculation technology—the Hypertone Imaging Engine.

Hypertone Imaging Engine

The Hypertone Imaging Engine uses deep pixel fusion to process lossless photos in the RAW domain. As a result, image details are preserved with accurate colours and an extended dynamic range for a perfect balance between light and shadowsm, said the company. Additionally, AI Denoise and AI Demosaic algorithms are employed to increase portrait image clarity in lighting conditions that are less than ideal.

OPPO’s Tone Mapping Control algorithm debugs and optimises lighting, colouring, and texture for accurate results with Indian skin tones in portrait photos. These algorithms are developed with feedback from an internal expert team and finetuned in collaboration with external professionals, including renowned celebrity wedding photographer Joseph Radhik from India, added OPPO. OPPO’s Face Curve algorithm optimises stereoscopic light and shade effects on human faces to give portraits a sense of story and environment.

OPPO’s upgraded processing algorithm leverages the 50MP 1/1.56″ Sony IMX890 main camera. The integration of OIS and all-pixel omnidirectional PDAF promises stability and clarity by eliminating motion blurs in action photos involving sports, children and even pets.

Portrait Photography

The Portrait Mode in the Reno11 Series—rear and front cameras—lets users adjust the aperture from F1.4 to F16 to control background bokeh and bokeh flare; this aperture can also be adjusted during post-processing. These portrait cameras are backed by the 32MP IMX709 RGBW (Red, Green, Blue, White) camera sensors—co-developed by OPPO and Sony.

Additionally, the 32MP IMX709 rear camera packs a 2x telephoto lens, and its 47mm focal length for proportionate visually-pleasing portraits.

OPPO’s Portrait AI can distinguish between skin blemishes and beauty spots to eliminate the former but retain the latter; it also factors skin tone, age and the sex of the subject before applying filters of beautification and skin smoothening, said OPPO.

The Reno11 Series packs an 8MP 112° ultra-wide-angle Sony IMX355 camera with a 1/4-inch sensor. The Reno11 Series boasts additional shooting modes, including Night, Pano, Slo-mo, Dual-view video and Text scanner. Both—the front and rear—cameras support 4K videos at 30fps, and you also get an ultra-steady mode on the rear camera for 1080p videos at 60fps.

The Reno11 Series also feature fully-functional Pro mode that lets you adjust ISO, shutter speed, exposure value, focus and white balance. The device even supports screen overlays: a 3×3 grid, a diagonal and the Golden Spiral guides—activated from Camera Settings—to help frame perfect snapshots with aesthetically-pleasing compositions.

Performance and 10-bit display

The Reno11 Pro packs a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC and uses Imagiq 785 camera technology, which boasts a 14-bit HDR-ISP, supports HDR video capture. It also supports OPPO’s home-grown technologies for better subject focus tracking.

The Arm Mali-G610 graphics engine promises high-frame rate gameplay. And MediaTek’s Intelligent Display Sync 2.0 dynamically adjusts the display refresh rate—between 60, 90 and 120Hz—according to the detected frame rate of the game to ensure smooth viewing experiences.

The Reno11 Series supports 10-bit colours that boost output to 1.07 billion colours for a more even, realistic, and delicate colour transition whether videos or images are viewed on the screen, and offers HDR brightness of up to 950 nits.

The Reno11 comes with the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC with Arm Mali-G68 GPU optimised for smooth everyday gaming experiences.

Fast-charging and battery

The Reno11 Pro is equipped with a 4600mAh battery and 80W SuperVOOC, which enables 100% charging in 28 minutes. The Reno11, on the other hand, has a 5000mAh battery and supports 67W SuperVOOC charging that chan charge the phone up to 100% in 45 minutes.

Both devices feature OPPO’s Battery Health Engine (BHE) technology, which improves battery life and sustainability. The emphasis on faster charging and convenient fragmented short-time charging supports prolonged usage scenarios, allowing users to quickly recharge their devices, said the company.

OPPO has also confirmed ColorOS 14 based on Android 14 for the phone. The phone is also running a contest on its site that lets you stand a chance to win the all-new OPPO Reno11 Pro 5G, OPPO Enco Buds2, Coupons and Points. This ends January 12th, so the launch could happen on the same date.
