vivo X100 Pro Unboxing and First Impressions

vivo today launched the X100 series of smartphones in India. Here we have the X100 Pro, which is the successor to last year’s X90 Pro. This has a 1.5 120Hz curved AMOLED screen, faster Dimensity 9300 processor, better camera, bigger battery and lots more. We bring you the unboxing of the X100 Pro along with the first impressions of the phone.

Box Contents

  • Vivo X100 Pro 16GB + 512GB in Asteroid Black colour
  • 120W fast charger
  • USB Type-C to C Cable
  • SIM ejector tool
  • Protective Case
  • User manual and warranty information

The Vivo X100 Pro packs a 6.78-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, up to 3000 nits peak brightness, 2160Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming and has minimal bezels. Overall, the display looks brilliant for both indoor and outdoor.

This is the first phone in India to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC. It comes in single 16GB LPDDR5X RAM + 512GB (UFS 4.0) storage version. It runs Android 14 with Funtouch OS 14 out of the box, and the performance is smooth. The company has promised 3 OS updates and 3 years of software updates for the phone.

It has a tiny punch-hole that houses the 32-megapixel camera, but it still has 1080p video recording on the front. The earpiece doubles up as a secondary speaker. It has an optical fingerprint scanner.

The phone has power buttons and volume rockers on the right side, and there is nothing on the left, except for the antenna cutouts, since it has a metal frame. The dual SIM slot, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is present on the top along with an IR blaster.

Coming to the camera, the phone features triple rear cameras. It has a 50MP customized IMX989 VCS bionic main camera sensor, OIS, f/1.75 aperture glass-and-plastic lens, 50MP ultra-wide and a 50MP Zeiss super telephoto periscope camera with macro option.

The phone has T* coating, and this is the first phone to feature a telephoto lens certified by Zeiss APO. This also has vivo’s self-developed imaging chip V3 offering 4K-level processing, 4k 60fps night video and Android’s first 4K portrait video shooting.

The phone has ZEISS Multifocal Portrait powered with multiple professional focal lengths of 24mm(1x), 35mm (1.5x), 50mm (2.2x), 85mm (3.7x) and 100mm (4.3x).

Check out some camera samples.

The phone also has IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance, but it misses the vegan leather finish from the X90 Pro, and has a smooth glass finish which is slippery when holding the phone.

The phone is 8.91mm thick, even though it packs a huge, 5400mAh battery with 120W fast charging and also has 50W wireless charging. This is a major upgrade from the 4,870mAh battery in the X90 Pro.

Priced at Rs. 89,999, the phone is already available for pre-order from vivo India eStore, Flipkart and offline stores and will go on sale from January 11th. There are also several launch offers.
