HMD Global is gearing up to launch its first HMD brand smartphone, as announced in September 2023. A report by the Finnish media suomimobiili.fi suggests a new HMD smartphone is on the way.
Reports suggest that HMD Global briefly posted a mysterious image on Nokia.com, later removing it. The picture displayed a woman on a cyan-colored phone, resembling a 3D mockup more than a real device, hinting at HMD’s plans.
The design is reminiscent of old Nokia Lumia phones, not seen in the HMD Global era. The back has a box-like camera area with three cameras and a flash, boasting a “108 MP OIS” camera. The device also features an HMD logo on the back.
Additionally, an early information page on Nokia.com emphasizes HMD’s goal: “We want to make phones that you want to commit to—durable, fun, secure, fast, and affordable. Real quality, the whole package.”
Notably, the leaked information hints at HMD’s venture into 108 MP cameras, similar to Nokia Mobile’s experimentation with the Nokia 9.3 PureView model in 2020.
According to @evleaks codenames of the upcoming HMD phones are Pulse, Legend, Pulse+, Legend Plus, Pulse Pro and Legend Pro.
As MWC 2024 is around the corner, more details are anticipated at the event in Barcelona at the end of February.
