Nothing has confirmed the launch of Nothing Phone (2a), the company’s next smartphone, on March 5th. The company’s CEO Carl Pei in a video hinted that the Phone (2a) will be cheaper than the Phone (1).
Design
Lead Industrial Designer Chris Weightman revealed the phone’s design sketches that match the live images that surfaced recently showing the camera in the middle.
He also confirmed that the phone will still have a transparent design and will have the glyph interface, but the company has reworked on the placement of the glyph, he added.
The sketches also coincide with the images that surfaced a few weeks back. Earlier rumours revealed a 6.7″ 120Hz AMOLED screen, powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, feature a 50MP 1/1.5″ Samsung S5KGN9 sensor along with a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 ultra-wide camera in the rear and a 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor for the front.
Rs. 2,000 discount
As usual, the phone will be sold on Flipkart in India, and you can sign up on the Nothing website to get a Rs. 2000 discount during the sale on Flipkart. If others sign-up with your code, you can stand a chance to attend the launch event in Delhi, and one lucky winner will receive a Phone (2a), said the company.
Regarding the phone, Carl Pei said:
At Nothing, we just want to create the best products, irrespective of which product. With Phone (2a), what’s important is great performance and a great camera. That’s what the team has been really focused on, whilst not forgetting about what makes us unique: our design innovation and our software.
