HONOR X9b Unboxing and First Impressions

HTech launched the HONOR X9b, the company’s second phone in the Indian market after its comeback with HONOR 90 last year. This has a curved AMOLED screen, is powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, has 8GB of RAM, and a large 5800mAh battery. Here we have the first impressions of the phone.

The phone doesn’t come with a charger in the box, but the company is offering a complimentary 30W charger worth Rs. 699 free of cost as an introductory offer.

The HONOR X9b packs a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 3D curved corners, 120Hz refresh rate and has minimal bezels. It also has 1920Hz PWM Dimming technology that minimizes flicker, reducing eye strain and ensuring a comfortable viewing experience. Since it has up to 1200 nits peak brightness, the display looks great even in outdoors.

It has a tiny punch-hole that houses the 16-megapixel camera that supports 1080p video recording. The earpiece is present on the top edge, but it doesn’t act as a secondary speaker, similar to the HONOR 90.

The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner, and comes with a minimal bottom bezel.

The HONOR X9b is powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, has 8GB of RAM with addition 8GB of virtual RAM. It runs Android 13 with MagicOS 7.2 that has several features and lets users control an HONOR laptop, smartphone and tablet using a single keyboard and mouse with HonorShare. The company said that the phone will get Android 14 update.

The phone has a power button and volume rockers on the right side.  The dual SIM slots, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the speaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is present on the top.

The phone has triple rear cameras that include a 108-megapixel main camera, 5-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There are a lot of camera features such as multi video, story mode and lots more. Check out the camera samples below.

It has an Ultra-Bounce 360° Anti-Drop Resistance, featuring cutting-edge cushioning technology, and the innovative shock-absorbing structure offers impressive resistance to drops up to 1.5 meters, ensuring 360° protection on all six faces and four corners, even on hard surfaces, said the company.

The Midnight Black color that we have has a matte finish, and Sunrise Orange incorporates leather accents. The phone packs a 5800mAh battery with support for 35W fast charging, and promises up to 3 days of battery life.

The HONOR X9b is priced at Rs. 25,999 for the single 8GB + 256GB model. There are bank discounts, bringing the effective price down to Rs. 22999. It will be available from Amazon.in, explorehonor website and offline stores starting from tomorrow, February 16th.
