Sony ECM-S1 Wireless Streaming Microphone launched in India

Sony introduces the ECM-S1 wireless/streaming microphone in India, expanding its microphone lineup. This microphone features three large-diameter (14mm) capsules for Uni-directional, Omni-directional, and Stereo sound pickup modes, ensuring high-quality recording with sensitivity and a wide frequency range.

Its low noise levels and wide dynamic range enable clear recording of subtle sounds. Designed for natural voice recording, the microphone captures rich textured sound unique to streaming microphones. It includes noise cut and low-cut filters to eliminate harsh and low-frequency noise, enhancing recording quality in any environment.

Weighing just 157g, the microphone is compact and lightweight, with Bluetooth 5.3 and LC3plus codecs ensuring low power consumption and high sound quality. Wireless connectivity allows for recording unaffected by environmental conditions, suitable for talks, singing, and musical instruments.

The receiver attaches to compatible cameras via MI Shoe, and both the microphone and receiver support USB Type-C terminals for digital audio output. An independent dial adjusts the sound recording level, with real-time indicator lamps for intuitive volume adjustment.

A built-in LINK lamp indicates the communication status between the microphone and receiver. With built-in batteries, the microphone and receiver offer extended use, with the receiver supporting direct power supply when connected to a camera or via a USB Type-C cable.

The microphone lasts up to 13 hours on a full charge. A pop guard reduces popping noises, and a stand allows the microphone to stand without support, with an adjustable angle. Additionally, the microphone can be mounted on a tripod or microphone arm for versatility.
