OnePlus has posted a new teaser of a smartwatch with a caption “It’s about 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒” hinting at the company’s next smartwatch, and the successor to the first OnePlus Watch which was introduced back in 2021.
According to reliable tipster Max Jambor, the OnePlus Watch 2 running WearOS will debut at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 26th. The date coincides with the date for the OnePlus contest for the watch in the OnePlus community that ends on the same date.
Based on earlier rumours, the Watch 2 will feature a 1.43″ AMOLED screen, compared to a 1.39″ inch screen, and the smartwatch is retain the circular dial, feature metal casing, two buttons on the sides, speaker grill for Bluetooth calling, based on the renders.
We can expect it to retain GPS, 5ATM + IP68 water and dust resistance, and it could pack a bigger battery compared to 402mAh battery in the first OnePlus Watch since this is expected to run WearOS instead of RTOS.
OnePlus India has also posted the same teaser, so we can expect the pricing and the sale date for the Indian market to be announced at the event. This should compete with the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series and the Pixel Watch 2 in India. Will it be cheaper than these? We should know in a few days.
