Update: realme has confirmed the launch of realme 12+ 5G in India on March 6th. It will feature a Sony LYT600 sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) – the first in the segment, said the company. It is the same sensor used in the OPPO Reno11.
The sensor promises 18% enhancement in color reproduction compared to previous generations. It will support 2X In-sensor Zoom, promising clearer images without compromising quality, while offering enhanced shooting flexibility for capturing subjects at varying distances with precision.
The new Snap Portrait System enables users to go from not shooting to capturing their next shot within 0.8s. Its optimized capture speed achieves high-speed continuous shooting of up to 208 pictures per minute, says the company. Other features include Cinematic Bokeh Algorithm.
Luxury Watch-Inspired Design and Vegan Leather
It uses elements traditionally found in the world of luxury watches. Drawing inspiration from the dial, bezels, and straps of luxury watches, realme 12+ 5G includes a polished sunburst dial with more than 500 gradient patterns, creating a play between light and shadow, said realme.
It has a premium vegan leather finish and includes a metallic strap texture. The phone also has IP54 dust and water resistance. It has Rainwater Smart Touch, a technology that provides users greater comfort and accuracy during usage.
The device scans the screen data to determine whether water or a hand is touching the screen. When water is detected, a series of algorithms blocks unexpected touch actions. In cases where water and touch co-occur, the algorithm reduces the water effect, improving the touch input accuracy. This enhances the overall performance and usability of realme 12+ 5G in every setting.
Earlier: Following the announcement last week, realme revealed its plan to introduce the latest addition to its product lineup, the realme 12+ 5G, in the Indian market.
The addition of the “+” symbol emphasizes realme’s focus on offering premium features at an affordable price within the mid-range smartphone category. Building on the success of the realme 12 Pro Series 5G, the realme 12+ 5G aims to excel in photography performance.
Collaborating with Claudio Miranda, an Oscar-winning cinematographer, realme has developed three image enhancement filters inspired by his acclaimed films to elevate the photography experience on the device.
Incorporating design cues from luxury watches, the realme 12+ 5G sets itself apart with its stylish and innovative design, redefining the aesthetics of smartphones.
The realme India website features a teaser page showcasing the triple rear cameras with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and hints at a unique green faux leather finish.
The device is expected to boast a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 7050 6nm processor, 5000mAh battery with 67W fast charging, and up to 12GB / 256GB storage, running on Android 14 with realme UI 5.
Additionally, realme promises “12 upgrades” never seen before in the smartphone industry, building anticipation for the launch, expected in March following its debut in Malaysia on February 29th.
