WhatsApp now lets you easily search Messages by Date

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called ‘Search by Date,’ aimed at helping users easily locate old messages within their chats. This feature, which has completed beta testing, is now being rolled out to all users.

In a recent post on his official WhatsApp channel, Mark Zuckerberg demonstrated how the search-by-date function works. In a video, he showed how he was able to find an old chat about Karaoke simply by selecting a specific date.

With this feature, users can search their conversations by various media types, including links, media files, and documents, directly from the conversation detail page.

How to use ‘search by date’ on WhatsApp?

To utilize the ‘search by date’ feature, users can open any personal or group chat, tap on the three dots in the top right corner, and select “Search.”

From there, they can access a new calendar icon on the right side, allowing them to choose a date and find any relevant conversation, links, media, or documents.

This makes it simple for users to quickly locate specific information or confirmations they may be seeking, especially if they remember the date of the conversation.

Alongside recent additions like text formatting options, this ‘search by date’ feature aims to save users valuable time when searching for media files or messages.

Availability

This feature is now available on Android devices, iOS, Mac, and WhatsApp Web, providing a convenient way for users to manage their conversations effectively.
