Nothing Phone (2a) will be manufactured in India

London-based consumer technology brand Nothing has announced that their upcoming smartphone, the Nothing ‘Phone (2a)’, will be manufactured in India, in an aim to harness the rich manufacturing ecosystem of the country while investing in the local economy and creating job opportunities.

This follows the Phone (1) and the Phone (2a) which were also made in India at a facility in Tamil Nadu.

Last year, Nothing had set up its first Global exclusive service center in Bengaluru, and now it has confirmed the global launch of its upcoming smartphone, Phone (2a) in India.

The event will be live-streamed from an in-person gathering in Delhi. The company has also announced the Bollywood icon Ranveer Singh as the brand face of Smartphones.

Nothing said that its unique transparent design, where even a speck of data can cause rejection, requires adherence to the highest global quality standards. The company added that it has brought these processes to India and in the long term aims to build India as an export hub.

Regarding the design, the company.

The designed for India, Nothing Phone (2a) has been engineered with a focus on providing the optimal daily smartphone experience, doubling down on core user needs, and incorporating all of Nothing’s design innovation, expertise, and craftsmanship. Phone (2a) will leverage some of the most beloved features from Phone (2), ensuring a clear upgrade compared to Phone (1) on every front.

Nothing Phone (2a) will be powered by a custom Dimensity 7200 Pro processor co-engineered with MediaTek. The design was teased at the MWC in Barcelona on February 27th.

The company has also announced #THE100 Drops, marking the first locations where the device will be available for purchase in India and other countries.
