Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, the company’s latest top-end chip in the 8 series, today. It also confirmed HONOR, iQOO, realme, Redmi and Xiaomi will be the first OEMs to adopt the chip in their phones.
At its China event, the company said that the 8s Gen 3 will offer 20% faster CPU performance, and 15% more energy efficient than that of the previous generation flagship of its competitors which should be Dimensity 9200.
Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro and new Redmi phone
Xiaomi has confirmed that it has worked with Qualcomm for the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, which will be one of the first phones to be powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. This will be a major upgrade compared to Dimensity 8200-Ultra in the Civi 3.
The second device from Xiaomi will be a new Redmi series phone and not the Redmi Note 13 Turbo as rumored earlier. Redmi said that it will be used in mid-range for the first time that will reshape the mid-range performance landscape.
iQOO Z9 series
iQOO has confirmed that its next Z9 series phone will be powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, and it will be introduced in April. Earlier rumours revealed that this will be Z9 Turbo.
moto X50 Ultra
motorola has confirmed moto X50 Ultra will be powered by 8s Gen 3. This is said to be launched as edge 50 Pro for the global markets including India, and edge+ (2024) for the US.
realme already confirmed that the GT Neo6 SE will be powered by Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC, and the realme GT Neo6 is expected to be powered by 8s Gen 3, and we should get a confirmation soon.
We are yet to hear details about the HONOR phone that will use the chip.
