Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 official: 15% faster CPU and 45% better GPU

Qualcomm just announced the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, the company’s latest mid-range 7 series Mobile Platform, as the successor to last year’s Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. This uses 4nm process tech and has the same architecture as the 8 Gen 3 and the 8s Gen 3, but with different clock speeds.

The platform has support for a wide range of AI models including large language models (LLMs) such as Baichuan-7B, Llama 2, and Gemini Nano, said the company.

It promises 15% improved Qualcomm Kryo CPU, 45% improved Qualcomm Adreno GPU and 5% overall power savings compared to Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. The GPU doesn’t offer hardware Ray Tracing capabilities.

This uses Snapdragon X63 modem, has 4K HDR video capture, comes with 18-bit triple ISP. It retains the Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Mobile Connectivity System from the 8 Gen 3 and the 8s Gen 3 offering Wi-Fi 7 offering up to 5.8 Gbps speed and dual Bluetooth connectivity for sustained immersion.
