After rumours, first set of renders for the upcoming Sony Xperia 1 VI has surfaced, thanks to @Onleaks. This shows a familiar design with the front camera on the top bezel and a large bottom bezel for the speakers.
The renders also reveal a wider and a more traditional 19.5:9 aspect ratio, compared to 21:9 aspect ratio in older models. It is also said to pack a 2K+ or Quad HD+ (about 3200 x 1440 pixels) panel instead of a 4K panel in the previous models.
It is said to measure 161.9 x 74.5 x 8.4mm, making it wider and shorter than the older models due to the design change, and it is said to be 0.1mm thicker compared to 1 V.
Reports suggest that the Xperia 1 VI will boast a triple camera setup on the back, with all three rear camera sensors that are rumored to be 48MP Exmor T sensors, including a 48MP 1/2.7″ periscope telephoto sensor capable of 3x optical zoom and up to 6x zoom via sensor crop.
As for the release date, the phone is expected to see a global launch in May, which is next month. We can expect more details about the phone in the coming weeks.
