OnePlus is preparing to release its next tablet, the OnePlus Pad 2, later this year. Leaks about the tablet are surfacing online, with tipster Max Jambor, who previously predicted the tablet’s arrival in the second half of 2024, now says it will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.
Though specific specs are yet to be revealed, with the flagship processor onboard, we anticipate improvements like a brighter display, larger battery, and increased storage capacity.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a significant upgrade from the original OnePlus Pad. This could lead to further enhancements, such as possibly switching to an AMOLED screen instead of the previous LCD panel.
To recall, the first-gen OnePlus Pad boasts an 11.6-inch LCD display with 144Hz refresh rate, Full-HD+ resolution, and 500nits brightness. Powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 SoC, it houses a 9,510mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC charging support, and launched at starting at Rs. 37,999.
Expected launch date?
The OnePlus Pad 2 is expected to debut in the latter half of 2024, possibly around the same time as Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 series, also rumored to run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and likely to be announced in July.
