Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY, the first PlayStation certified phone would be available on AT&T in US from September 18th for $49.99 under 2 year contract. This would run on AT&T’s high speed HSPA+ network and the phone is called as Xperia PLAY 4G. AT&T announced in July they would launch the phone soon. It has Facebook Inside Xperia, a suite of Facebook functions integrated into phone book, Music player and gallery.
The Xperia PLAY has 1GHz Snapdragon CPU and Adreno 205 GPU and it runs on the Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread). Other features include 4 inch (480 x 854 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 5MP rear and VGA forward-facing camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and aGPS.
AT&T customers will have access to 150 PLAY optimized games including Minecraft Pocket Edition, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Dead Space 2 for download and purchase through the Get Games recommender screen.
They would also get 7 free pre-loaded games that include, Dungeon Defenders Second Wave by Trendy Entertainment, Asphalt 6 and Star Battalion by Gameloft, Madden NFL 11 and The Sims 3 by Electronic Arts, Tower Bloxx: My City by Digital Chocolate and Crash Bandicoot by SCEA/Naughty Dog/Universal.
The phone would be available in stealth blue color exclusively for AT&T customers and it would come with accessories including the Sony Ericsson Multimedia Dock DK300 and MC100 music cable.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY 4G would be available in AT&T stores and online in US on September 18 for $49.99 after a two-year contract.
