MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ official, to power vivo X100s series and iQOO Neo9s Pro

MediaTek just announced the Dimensity 9300+ as the upgraded version of the Dimensity 9300 at the MediaTek Dimensity Developer Conference (MDDC) 2024, as it had promised.

Faster CPU

It retains the third-generation TSMC’s 4nm process tech, but the Arm Cortex-X4 core now operates at up to 3.4 GHz compared to 3.25GHz while retaining 3 x performance core clocked ARM Cortex-X4 cores at a slower 2.85GHz and 4 x Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.0GHz.

Improved APU

The Dimensity 9300+ boasts improved AI processing over the previous generation, thanks to up to 10% performance boost in MediaTek’s new NeuroPilot Speculative Decode Acceleration technology in the company’s latest generative AI engine.

Gen-Al collaborations include 01.Al Yi-Nano, Alibaba Cloud Owen LLM, Baichuan Al, ERNIE-35-SE, Google Gemini Nano, Meta Llama 2 and Llama 3. The APU 790 AI engine supports LLMs with 1B, 7B, and 13B parameters, with scalability up to 33B, and can also run LLMs quickly and efficiently.

With NeuroPilot Speculative Decode Acceleration, Dimensity 9300+ can run LLMs with seven billion parameters at 22 tokens per second, more than 2X the rate of competitive mass market solutions, said the company.

GPU Improvements

The 12-core Arm Immortalis-G720 GPU has a 2nd generation hardware ray tracing engine for fast raytracing experiences at a smooth 60 FPS, along with console-grade global illumination effects.

The chip has MediaTek’s latest HyperEngine technologies such as MediaTek Adaptive Gaming Technology (MAGT) for a boost in power efficiency when enabled in popular game titles, helping to extend battery life and keep devices cool.

Additionally, the HyperEngine’s new Network Observation System (NOS) can improve Wi-Fi/Cellular dual-network concurrency and leverage precise network prediction technology. When enabled, MediaTek NOS offers up to 10% power savings and up to 25% cellular data savings, says the company.

ISP

The MediaTek retains the Imagiq 990 ISP offering 18-bit RAW processing and has a built-in AI Semantic Analysis Video Engine to support advanced AI videography features including 16 scene segmentation with real-time video capture to reduce noise, increase brightness, and enhance colors.

The MediaTek’s MiraVision 990 has advanced AI depth engine technologies to enhance smartphone content.

Connectivity

The Dimensity 9300+ includes a 5G R16 modem designed with AI situational awareness and the modem supports 4CC-CA Sub-6GHz with up to 7Gbps downlink, same as the Dimensity 9300.
