Alongside the new iPad Pro models, Apple also introduced newer versions of Logic Pro, called Logic Pro for iPad 2 / Mac 11, and Final Cut Pro, called Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 / Mac 10.8. The update brings lots of new features to both professional apps.
Logic Pro for iPad 2 / Mac 11
The newest version of the Logic Pro digital audio workstation includes AI-powered features like a studio assistant, enhanced Session Players, a Stem Splitter, and ChromaGlow.
Session Players now include Bass Player and Keyboard Player for a personalized backing band experience. Users can choose from eight different Bass Players and guide their performance with controls for complexity and intensity while leveraging advanced parameters for slides, mutes, dead notes, and pickup hits, said the company.
Stem Splitter enables users to extract individual parts from mixed audio recordings into four distinct parts: Drums, Bass, Vocals, and Other instruments, while ChromaGlow adds warmth to tracks with AI modeling.
Apple recommends the M-series Apple chipset for using Session Players on iPad and ChromaGlow on iPad, while it’s required for Stem Splitter on iPad and Mac. Additionally, an M-series Apple chipset is required for using ChromaGlow on Mac.
Final Cut Pro for iPad 2/Mac 10.8
Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 introduces Live Multicam, allowing users to connect and preview up to four cameras simultaneously, alongside support for projects on external drives, letting users easily create or open projects on an external storage device.
The new Final Cut Camera app for iPhone and iPad facilitates wireless connection and remote direction of video angles. Leveraging the incredible camera systems on iPhone and iPad, Final Cut Camera allows users to adjust settings like white balance and manual focus, while monitoring their recordings with zebras and audio meters, said the company. It can also be used as a standalone video capture app for a more professional experience.
Additionally, Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 adds AI features for rapid video customization and easier retiming of visuals. The new Enhance Light and Colour feature offers the ability to improve color, color balance, contrast, and brightness in one simple step, and it is optimized for SDR, HDR, RAW, and Log-encoded media. Further, Smooth Slo-Mo adds video frames intelligently.
Editors can now give custom names in the inspector to easily identify changes applied to a clip, and effects can be dragged from the inspector to other clips in the timeline or viewer.
