CarryPad reports from the Intel Developer Forum that Android will be making an entry on Intel hardware beginning 2012. Intel announced that it plans to bring Android 2.3 Gingerbread to its Atom E6xx series of chipsets.
The chipset manufacturer plans to roll out its first Android handset towards January 2012. The first handsets are expected to run Gingerbread instead of the upcoming Ice Cream Sandwich OS which is said to combine the smartphone and tablet branches of Android.
