HP Copilot+ PC OmniBook X and EliteBook Ultra with Snapdragon X Elite processors announced


HP has unveiled its next-generation AI PCs: the HP OmniBook X AI PC and the HP EliteBook Ultra AI PC – the first Copilot+ PCs from the company.

Both devices are powered by the Snapdragon X Elite processor, featuring a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of 45 trillion operations per second for running language models and generative AI locally.

HP OmniBook X AI PC

The HP OmniBook X AI PC comes with a 14-inch, 2.2K (2240 x 1400) multitouch IPS display. It is equipped with a Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 processor, Qualcomm Adreno GPU, and offers either 16 or 32 GB of onboard RAM. Storage options include up to 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD.

It features a 59Wh battery and a 65W Type-C adapter. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v5.3, USB-A, 2x USB-C, and a headphone/microphone combo port.

The device also includes a 5MP IR camera with noise reduction, dual array digital microphones, dual speakers, a precision touchpad, and a full-size backlit keyboard. It runs on Windows 11 Home and is EPEAT Gold registered.

HP EliteBook Ultra AI PC

The HP EliteBook Ultra AI PC features a 14-inch, 2.2K (2240 x 1400) IPS display and is also powered by the Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 processor with Qualcomm Adreno GPU.

It comes with 16 GB LPDDR5x-8400 MHz RAM and a 512 GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe TLC M.2 SSD. This laptop features Audio by Poly Studio, boasting dual stereo speakers with discrete amplifiers, dual array microphones, and a 5MP IR camera.

It also sports a full-size backlit keyboard in an atmosphere blue finish, paired with an HP Imagepad offering multi-touch support.

It features a 59Wh battery, a 65W Type-C adapter, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, 2x USB-C, 1x USB-A, and a headphone/microphone combo jack. The laptop runs on Windows 11 Pro and is TCO Certified and ENERGY STAR certified.

Both laptops boast up to 26 hours of battery life and feature HP’s new AI Helix Logo. The EliteBook Ultra also includes a durable, smudge-resistant PVD coating. Alongside Copilot+ PC features, it includes:

  • Work Protected: The HP EliteBook Ultra includes Wolf Pro Security Next Gen Antivirus (NGAV) and is a Microsoft Secured-Core PC for enhanced security.
Sustainability and Features

Both models are part of HP’s sustainable PC portfolio, using 50% recycled aluminum in the covers and 100% sustainably sourced packaging materials.

They hold EPEAT Climate+ Gold Registration and ENERGY STAR Certification. The EliteBook Ultra offers a three-year warranty, reducing costs and downtime.

Rebranding and New Naming Scheme

HP is streamlining its product lineup by discontinuing the Spectre, Pavilion, and Dragonfly brands. The new prefixes are:

  • Consumer devices: “Omni” (OmniBook for laptops, OmniDesk for desktops, OmniStudio for all-in-ones)

  • Commercial devices: “ProBook,” “ProDesk,” “ProStudio” for lower-end, and “EliteBook,” “EliteDesk,” “EliteStudio” for higher-end

  • Performance tiers are indicated by modifiers (odd numbers for consumer, even numbers for commercial)
Pricing and Availability
  • HP OmniBook X AI PC: Starting at USD 1,199.99 (Rs. 99,905 approx.) with 1TB storage.
  • HP EliteBook Ultra AI PC: Starting at USD 1,699.99 (Rs. 1,41,530 approx.).

Both laptops are available for pre-order at HP.com and will ship on June 18, 2024.
