POCO today launched the F6 5G, the company’s latest smartphone in the F series, in India and global markets. This has several improvements including a better 1.5K OLED screen, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, and more. Here we have the first impressions of the phone.

The phone has a 6.67-inch Full HD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen that can switch between 30Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz. It has HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision. It has up to 2400 nits brightness, so the sunlight legibility is good even in bright outdoors. There is 1920Hz High Frequency PWM Dimming.
The screen has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It has an ultra-narrow 2.27mm bottom bezel. You can also see the in-display fingerprint scanner, a change compared to the side-mounted scanner in the POCO F5.
The tiny punch-hole houses a 20MP camera. On the top edge there is a loudspeaker grill that also doubles up as a speaker.
It is the first phone to be powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 4nm SoC with support for 4800mm² ultra-large IceLoop cooling system, which the company says is 3x better than VC cooling.
It runs Android 14 with HyperOS out of the box. The company has promised 3 OS updates and 4 years of security updates for the phone.
Coming to the button placements, the volume rockers and the power button are present on the right side of the phone. The dual SIM slot, loudspeaker grill, primary microphone and USB Type-C port are present on the bottom. It doesn’t have a microSD expansion slot.
On the top there is a vent for the speaker, secondary microphone and an infrared sensor are present on the top. The 3.5mm audio jack, which made a comeback in the POCO F5, is now gone. Since the phone has a plastic frame, you don’t see any antenna cutouts. The flat frame offers a good grip to hold and doesn’t attract fingerprints.
The POCO F6 5G features the 50MP rear camera with Sony IMX882 sensor and OIS. There is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. It supports up to 4K 60fps video recording on the back, and 1080p video recording on the front.

The phones feature a flat-edge design and a plastic back. The phone also has IP64 ratings for dust and water resistance. The phone packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging that can charge up to 100% in 35 minutes. It weighs 179 grams.
The POCO F6 5G starts at Rs. 29,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model. With all the offers, the phone will be available starting at Rs. 26,999. It will be available from Flipkart starting from May 29th.
