Samsung is bringing Galaxy AI to Galaxy Watch for enhanced health monitoring

Samsung has announced that they are bringing Galaxy AI to Galaxy Watch, following its launch with the Galaxy S24 series. This update integrates powerful on-device AI with the Samsung Health app to deliver more personalized and secure health experiences.

Advanced Intelligence for Holistic Insights

By integrating Galaxy AI with Samsung Health, users will gain more comprehensive health insights and motivational support to improve daily wellness.

Energy Score: This feature provides a detailed understanding of your daily condition by analyzing metrics such as average sleep time, consistency in sleep and wake times, previous day’s activity, sleeping heart rate, and heart rate variability.

Wellness Tips: Personalized health tips and guidance help users achieve their specific health goals through motivational encouragement and insights.

Greater Precision and Accuracy

Accurate health metrics are crucial for effective health monitoring. The new features combine advanced health algorithms with AI to offer more personalized insights.

Enhanced Sleep AI: New sleep indicators provide a detailed analysis of sleep quality, including movement during sleep, sleep latency, heart rate, and respiratory rate, in addition to existing metrics like snoring hours, blood oxygen level, and sleep cycles.

Advanced Fitness Features

New fitness features offer precise and effortless physical capacity measurements.

Running Metrics: Personalized Health Rate Zone now includes detailed Aerobic Threshold (AT) and Anaerobic Threshold (AnT) Heart Rate Zone metrics for efficient running and performance analysis.

Cycling Metrics: Cyclists can calculate Functional Threshold Power (FTP) metrics in 10 minutes, using AI to personalize power index and maximize performance.

Workout Routine: Combine various exercises for a seamless workout experience and transition smoothly between exercises. The Race feature allows runners and cyclists to compare current and past performances on the same routes.

Availability

These new features will be available on the next Galaxy Watch lineup via One UI 6 Watch, set to release later this year. A limited number of Galaxy Watch users can access the beta program starting in June.

Samsung indicated that these updates are just the beginning, and they plan to showcase the full potential of Galaxy AI with upcoming hardware upgrades in the new Galaxy Watch series.

Commenting on the announcement, Junho Park, VP and Head of the Galaxy Ecosystem Product Planning Team, MX Business at Samsung Electronics, said:

By expanding the power of Galaxy AI across our ecosystem, we’re unlocking new possibilities with optimized and connected experiences that offer users greater personalization and intelligence. The introduction of Galaxy AI to Galaxy Watch is just the beginning of this process, and we’re excited to showcase even more integrations across our Galaxy portfolio very soon.
