Blackmagic Design has announced that DaVinci Resolve 19 beta 3 now supports Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite processor for Windows.
This processor combines CPU, NPU, and GPU, enhancing the performance of DaVinci Resolve. With NPU acceleration, AI tools like magic mask perform up to 4.7x faster, and smart reframe sees a 2x speed boost.
Enhanced AI Tools
DaVinci Resolve 19 introduces powerful new DaVinci Neural Engine AI tools along with over 100 feature upgrades. These tools are fully supported on the Snapdragon X Elite processor.
- Colorists can now achieve rich film-like tones with the ColorSlice six vector palette and benefit from the new Ultra NR denoise mode in the Color page’s spatial noise reduction palette.
- IntelliTrack AI optimizes tracking and stabilization in the color and Fusion pages. For Fairlight, IntelliTrack can automatically pan audio to track motion.
Improved Denoising and Effects
UltraNR, driven by the DaVinci Neural Engine, allows colorists to significantly reduce digital noise while maintaining image clarity.
- Film look creator FX enables the addition of cinematic looks, replicating film properties like halation, bloom, and grain.
- With AI-based dialogue separator FX, customers can rebalance dialogue against background sound and room reverberation, perfect for field recordings and interviews.
Advanced Audio Editing
New features like ducker track FX automatically adjust the level of one track based on another, simplifying audio mixing.
- The music remixer track FX allows adjustments to fit music with the show’s style, including mute and level adjustments for various elements.
- The DaVinci Neural Engine also powers the transcription AI workflow, enabling editing based on transcribed text directly on the timeline.
