Apple could introduce a new app called Passwords, aimed at simplifying login processes for websites and software, according to sources familiar with the matter, reports Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.

The new app is expected to be part of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15, the next major updates for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The Passwords app will generate and store passwords, powered by iCloud Keychain.
Previously, this functionality was integrated into Apple’s settings app and appeared during website logins.

Apple WWDC 2024
According to Gurman, the Passwords app is just a part of Apple’s WWDC announcements.
The event will mainly spotlight Apple’s AI initiatives, featuring notification summaries, instant photo editing, AI-generated emojis, and an improved Siri, alongside a partnership with OpenAI to integrate the ChatGPT chatbot.
These announcements are set for June 10 at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference.
