OPPO introduced the Reno12 series smartphone in China last month, and the company recently confirmed that the OPPO Reno12 series will launch globally soon. Now the global version of the Reno 12 Pro has shown up in Geekbench listing with the model number OPPO CPH2629.
This reveals that the phone will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC which was introduced last week, so this should be one of the first smartphones with the chip.
The Dimensity 7300 SoC has 4X Arm Cortex-A78 cores at up to 2.5GHz paired with 4X Arm Cortex-A55 cores and uses 4nm process, promising up to 25% lower power consumption compared to 6nm in the Dimensity 7050.
The Arm Mali-G615 GPU promises 20% faster FPS and 20% improved energy efficiency compared to competitors, according to MediaTek.
Based on rumours, both the Reno12 and Reno12 Pro will use the same Dimensity 7300 chip. To remind you, the OPPO Reno11 is powered by Dimensity 7050 SoC, so this should be a considerable upgrade. However, the Reno11 Pro has a Dimensity 8200 SoC, so this is a downgrade, if this turns out to be true.
The Geekbench listing also reveals 12GB of RAM and Android 14 for the phone. Based on rumours, the OPPO Reno12 is said to pack a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP camera, and the Reno12 Pro is said to use a 50MP LYT600 main sensor and details about other cameras are not known yet.
Based on these details, this seems to be a downgrade, since the Reno11 series has a 32MP telephoto camera and the Reno11 Pro uses a larger Sony IMX890 sensor.
OPPO Reno 12 Pro has already been certified by NBTC, Indonesia Telecom and India’s BIS, so we can expect the launch of the Reno12 series as early as this June.
