Apple AirPods Pro is getting Voice Isolation, Hands-free Siri Interactions, and more

Apple has announced several new features for the AirPods and the AirPods Pro at the WWDC 2024.

Siri Interactions

AirPods Pro (2nd generation) users can now respond to Siri with a head nod (yes) or shake (no), for a more private and convenient experience. This uses machine learning on the H2 chip, and Siri Interactions allows users to answer or dismiss calls, interact with messages, manage notifications, and so much more — all without speaking.

Voice Isolation

The Voice Isolation feature that is already available on Mac, iPhone, and iPad, is coming to AirPods Pro. It uses machine learning to isolate and enhance the caller’s voice while removing background noise. This also uses H2 chip and works with AirPods Pro (2nd generation) when it is paired to iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

Improved Gaming

Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking for AirPods (3rd generation), AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max offers an immersive audio experience. Apple is releasing Personalized Spatial Audio API to enable this in gaming. Need for Speed Mobile by Tencent Games and EA will be one of the first titles with Personalized Spatial Audio the is coming this fall.

AirPods Pro (2nd generation) users will also experience the lowest audio latency ever for mobile gaming on Apple devices, and improved voice quality during gameplay, said the company.
