At the WWDC, Apple introduced visionOS 2, the next major software update to Apple Vision Pro. This brings spatial photos generation, new gestures for navigating visionOS, and more.
Generate Spatial photos from existing 2D images
Users can now create spatial photos from existing 2D images in their library and enjoy them in an immersive way. Spatial videos can also be captured on iPhone 15 Pro and edited on Mac with Final Cut Pro.
Canon will offer a new spatial lens for its EOS R7 camera, expanding spatial video capture options. Upload and share spatial videos on Vimeo for others to discover and enjoy.
New Gesture navigation
The update also improves navigation with new hand gestures and mouse support. Users can personalize their Home View and even share their Vision Pro with others as Guest Users.
Other features
Travel Mode now supports trains, allowing you to enjoy apps and dial in custom environments while on the go. Share your Vision Pro experience with family or colleagues by adding them as Guest Users (eye and hand data saved for 30 days).
Developers are building new apps that take advantage of the new features in visionOS 2, including volumetric objects, shared experiences, and health & fitness apps, said Apple.
Apple Immersive Video gains wider adoption with the launch of the first commercially available camera system from Blackmagic Design. DaVinci Resolve Studio update adds support for Apple Immersive Video, empowering professional filmmakers.
The Apple TV app brings multiview for sports and Mindfulness app gets new breathing exercises.
