Google has confirmed the launch of Pixel 9 series and Pixel Watch 3 on August 13th, which is two months ahead of the usual October launch. There is also a change in the venue this time, which is the company’s headquarters in Mountain View, California instead of New York City.
Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold
The landing page has Pixel 9 Pro, but this time the company is expected to introduce a new Pixel 9 XL, and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, successor to the Pixel Fold is also expected.
The Pixel 9 Pro XL is said to pack 16GB of RAM, and a large screen, while retaining the Tensor G4 SoC from the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro. The Pixel 9 is said to pack a 6.03-inch display, while the Pixel 9 Pro is said to get a 6.3-inch display and the Pixel 9 Pro XL is said to boast a larger 6.7-inch display.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is said to get a 6.4″ outer screen and a 7.9″ foldable inner screen, compared to 7.6″ foldable and 5.8″ outer displays in the first Pixel Fold. The render revealed triple rear cameras for the phone, including a telephoto camera. The phone is said to retain Tensor G4 SoC, and get 16GB of RAM.
Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 3 XL
The Pixel Watch 3 is expected to retain the 1.2-inch screen and this time the company is said to introduce a new Pixel Watch 3 XL model with a large 1.45-inch screen, larger and thicker body measuring 45mm x 45mm x 13.89mm.
We can expect a bigger battery, updated version of the crafted leather band, similar in appearance to previous models, and possibly in the Porcelain color.

The ‘Made by Google’ in-person launch event in Mountain View, California on August 13, 2024 starts at 10 am PT (10:30PM IST). Google will livestream the event on YouTube and the Google Store website.
India launch
Just like last time, we can expect the Pixel 9 series devices to go on sale the same day, and Google India has also confirmed the launch of the Pixel 9 series, but with a date of August 14th.
