Ather Energy announces third manufacturing plant in Maharashtra with Rs. 2000 crore investment

Ather Energy has announced its third manufacturing facility in the state of Maharashtra, amid an increasing product portfolio and rising consumer demand. The facility will be set up at Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC).

Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, confirmed that the state has attracted an investment of more than Rs. 2000 crore following a meeting with Ather’s co-founder, Swapnil Jain.

This investment and Ather’s selection of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is a testament of the fact that this region in Marathwada will now lead Maharashtra’s growth story, says Fadnavis.

The manufacturing facility will annually produce up to 1 million units of vehicles and battery packs, generating employment for 4,000 people. This facility adds to the company’s existing manufacturing facilities in Bengaluru and Tamil Nadu.

The company is slowly expanding its business and product portfolio. It recently introduced Rizta family scooter with up to 160km range and a Halo smart helmet with built-in Harman Kardon speakers.

Ather now has 2.37 lakh owners, 2,440 Grids across India, Rs. 524 crore savings on petrol, and 6,321 crore kg of CO2 saved, according to the company’s data shared during the Community Day event.

This expansion of the manufacturing facility should help Ather diversify its distribution facility in North India and meet the growing demand.
