New HMD phones get BIS certification ahead of India launch


HMD Global already confirmed the launch of several smartphones in July. Specifications of several HMD 5G phone surfaced recently. Now several models of HMD phones have been certified by BIS, hinting at the launch of the phones in India soon.

HMD phones with the model numbers TA-1633, TA-1634, TA-1636, TA-1639 received BIS certification in May. These are HMD 105 and 110 feature phones that were launched in India earlier this month.

Yesterday, HMD phones with the model numbers TA-1641, TA-1642 and TA-1600 have received BIS certification.

HMD phone with the model number TA-1645 recently got Bluetooth SIG certification. This surfaced recently as HMD Nighthawk with 6.67″ FHD+ OLED screen and Unisoc T760 5G SoC.

Budget 4G smartphones with codenames Aura, Pulse, Pulse+ and Pulse Pro, Arrow, budget 5G smartphones – Ridge and Waylay, mid-range Xenon and Skyline as well as U.S. exclusive Vibe and Atlas already surfaced. There are also Nighthawk and Tomcat models.

It is not clear what all we can expect from HMD in July, but the company is  expected to launch more than two smartphones that it had promised earlier this year.
