Airtel denies reports of data breach of over 375 million customers

Airtel has denied any kind of data breach, after a dark web seller xenZen allegedly claimed that he has hacked Airtel’s customer database of 375 million with customers details including phone, email, address, parents name, gov ID (Aadhaar, etc.) till June 2024.

Airtel said that the hacker has not been able to provide any proof for his claim and is using this wrongly to tarnish the brand’s image.

The company said that it can confirm that there has been no breach whatsoever from Airtel systems after a thorough investigation.

Denying the hack, Airtel Spokesperson in an official statement, said:

There has been an ongoing report alleging that Airtel customer data has been compromised. This is nothing short of a desperate attempt to tarnish Airtel’s reputation by vested interests. We have done a thorough investigation and can confirm that there has been no breach whatsoever from Airtel systems.
