Qualcomm India has scheduled ‘Snapdragon for India’ event on July 30th in Delhi. The invite says, ‘Two important announcements. One Important Day,’ confirming two major announcements at the event.
If you look closely, the art work on the left side has AI, Snapdragon logo, AI inside the PC, 5G and Wi-Fi. This could be the launch of Snapdragon X Elite-powered 5G Copilot PCs in India. We can also expect more Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus PCs at the event.
Several OEMs have started rolling out Snapdragon X Elite-powered laptops in India as well, after the global launch. ASUS launched its Snapdragon X Elite-powered AI PC – Vivobook S 15 earlier this week, and HP recently started pre-bookings for its EliteBook Ultra and OmniBook X Snapdragon X Elite-powered AI PCs in India. Microsoft also just launched the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop Copilot PCs in India.
While the first announcement could be related to Copilot PCs, the second announcement could be in the mobile space. 5G on the invite also hints at a budget 5G phone for the masses from Jio-powered by a Snapdragon chip. Jio launched the JioPhone Next 5G smartphone powered by Snapdragon 215 Mobile Platform back in 2021. Jio partnered with Google in 2022 to launch ultra-affordable 5G smartphones in the country.
