Apple is currently preparing to launch the iPhone 16 series later this year, around September 2024. However, rumors about the iPhone 17 series have already surfaced, revealing significant details about the upcoming models.
iPhone 17 Series Line-up
According to the tipster Ice Universe on Weibo, the iPhone 17 series will include four models:
- iPhone 17
- iPhone 17 Pro
- iPhone 17 Pro Max
- iPhone 17 Slim (replacing the iPhone 17 Plus)
He also shared detailed specifications and pricing for these models, as follows:
iPhone 17
The iPhone 17 is expected to feature a 6.27-inch LTPO display with ProMotion for a higher refresh rate. It will likely run on the A19 chipset and have 8GB of RAM. The frame will be made of aluminum, and the starting price is anticipated to be $799.
iPhone 17 Pro
The iPhone 17 Pro may come with a 6.27-inch LTPO screen and be powered by the A19 Pro chipset, coupled with 12GB of RAM.
It is expected to have a 48MP triple camera setup (wide, ultrawide, and telephoto) with a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor. The build will feature titanium, and the starting price is expected to be $1,099.
iPhone 17 Pro Max
The iPhone 17 Pro Max could offer a 6.86-inch LTPO screen, an A19 Pro chipset, 12GB of RAM, and a 48MP triple camera setup with a ToF sensor. It will also have a titanium build and might be priced at $1,199.
iPhone 17 Slim
The iPhone 17 Slim is expected to have a 6.65-inch LTPO screen, the A19 chipset, and 8GB of RAM. As the most premium device in the series, it will feature an aluminum frame and could start at $1,299.
All models will sport LTPO displays, following an earlier report from The Elec that Apple will switch entirely to LTPO display technology by the iPhone 17 series. China-based BOE might be one of the suppliers if it meets Apple’s expectations.
Additional features across all models include USB-C ports, Face ID for authentication, and possibly Qualcomm Snapdragon modems. The iPhone 17 series is expected to launch in September 2025.
iPhone SE 4
The tipster revealed details about the iPhone SE 4. It will feature Dynamic Island, a 48MP rear camera, and a 6.06-inch display with a 60Hz refresh rate, up from the SE 3’s 4.7 inches.
The device will be powered by the A18 Bionic chip and come with 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It will have an aluminum frame, Face ID, and a USB-C port. The expected price is between $499 and $549, with a launch timeline from March to May 2025.
While these details provide a glimpse into the future iPhone line-up, they are still rumors and subject to change.
