JioThings and MediaTek introduce 4G smart Android cluster and module for two-wheeler EVs

MediaTek and JioThings announced the launch of the “Made in India” Smart Digital Cluster and Smart Module for the 2-wheeler market. This collaboration combines MediaTek’s chipset technology with JioThings’ digital solutions to enhance the 2-wheeler and EV sectors.

This strategic partnership aims to deliver an Android-based smart digital cluster solution in India and globally. The JioThings smart digital cluster runs on AvniOS, an AOSP-based operating system, providing OEMs with a competitive edge through MediaTek’s chipset performance and firmware support.

Key features of the Smart Digital Cluster
  • Android-based smart digital cluster
  • AvniOS operating system
  • Real-time data analytics
  • Customizable interfaces
  • Voice recognition
  • Integration with vehicle controllers and IoT-enabled charging
  • Smart battery management system
  • Jio Automotive App Suite (Jio Voice Assistant, JioSaavn, JioPages, JioXploR)
  • Other unique service bundles

This collaboration aims to provide seamless digital experiences for 2-wheeler users and reduce time-to-market for OEMs. It leverages MediaTek’s chipset expertise and Jio’s product innovation to offer a turnkey solution for both Indian and global markets.

As the Indian 2-wheeler EV market is projected to reach Rs. 10,000 crores by the end of 2025, with over 3 million vehicles on the road and a CAGR of 50% over the next five years, the partnership between MediaTek and JioThings aims to meet the rising demand for electric vehicles.
