OPPO today launched the K12x 5G, the company’s latest smartphone with military-grade durability, in India.

The OPPO K12x 5G features a 6.67-inch HD+ LCD screen with 120Hz refresh rate. It has Amazon HD and Widevine L1 certifications for HD streaming in apps. Since it has up to 1000 nits peak brightness, the screen is bright even outdoors. The phone has twice-reinforced Panda Glass display.
It has an 8-megapixel camera in the centre. The earpiece is present on the top edge. OPPO’s Splash Touch technology ensures that the screen remains functional even when used with wet hands.
The phone has a slightly thicker bezels below the display, which is common in phones in the budget.
Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, the phone has up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM with up to 8GB of virtual RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It runs Android 14 with ColorOS 14 and will receive two OS updates and three years of security updates.
It has OPPO’s Trinity Engine that seamlessly schedules computing resources and system memory for smooth and lag-free operation for over four years, said the company.
The power button and the volume rockers are present on the right. The Hybrid dual SIM slot that accepts a second SIM or microSD card that supports up to 1TB expandable memory is present on the left.
The 3.5mm audio jack, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the speaker grill are crammed in the bottom. The phone doesn’t have a secondary microphone on the top.
The phone has dual rear camera that includes a 32MP main camera and a 2MP secondary portrait sensor. It has 1080p video recording support with both the front and rear cameras. Check out some camera samples.
The phone has 360° Damage-Proof Armour Body MIL-STD-810H certification that makes the K12x 5G highly durable and resilient. The K12x 5G also offers IP54 ratings for dust and splash resistance. The phone is just 7.68mm thick and also comes in Breeze Blue colours.
The phone packs a 5100mAh battery with 45W SuperVOOC charging. The battery can maintain over 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, equivalent to over 4 years of use if charged once daily, according to the company.
The OPPO K12x starts at Rs. 12,999 and will be available from Flipkart, OPPO India online stores and offline stores starting from August 2nd. There is also Rs. 1000 bank offers.
