Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 4nm 5G Mobile Platform for entry-level 5G phones announced


Qualcomm just announced the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 4nm Mobile Platform for entry-level 5G devices, as a cheaper version of the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 which was introduced last year.

The Qualcomm Kryo CPU offers peak speeds up to 2 GHz, and uses the same 4 nm processing node as the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2.  It offers support for 90fps FHD+ displays compared to 120Hz, but has the same dual 12-bit ISP and camera support.

It has a powerful modem for Gigabit 5G connectivity, and supports only 5G SA support. This supports Dual-frequency GNSS (L1 + L5), including NAVIC.

Availability

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 will ship starting by the end of 2024 to power sub USD 100 (Rs. 8,375 approx.) and will be initially be adopted by Xiaomi for markets like India to bring the price of 5G phone down further.
