Apple Intelligence will not delay the release of the new iPhone 16 models. Despite Apple Intelligence being pushed to iOS 18.1 last week and missing the September iOS 18 release, Apple plans to launch the iPhone 16 models on schedule, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Gurman highlighted that, in the past, Apple has delayed iPhone launches to finalize software features, such as with the iPhone 4S, which was pushed to October for Siri and iCloud. However, he confirmed that Apple will not use this approach for the iPhone 16.
Apple Intelligence Timeline
Gurman reported that Apple Intelligence, which recently entered beta with features like Writing Tools and Memory Generation in Photos, will not be fully operational until October.
Although the new Siri interface is available, advanced Siri upgrades, ChatGPT integration, Genmoji, and Image Playground are not yet included in the beta.
iPhone 16 Launch
Gurman emphasizes that the iPhone 16 will launch on September 10, 2024, with Apple Intelligence’s full features available after updating to iOS 18.1 in October.
He confirmed that Apple will adhere to its regular release schedule for the iPhone 16, while Apple Intelligence will be gradually rolled out with subsequent iOS updates, including significant Siri enhancements expected in spring 2025.
