Xiaomi said to be testing batteries up to 7500mAh with 100W fast charging


Xiaomi uses 5000mAh battery in most phones, and it has used up to 120W fast charging in its latest phones like the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ for the Indian market, and the Redmi K70 Ultra which was introduced in China recently uses a 5500mAh battery with 120W fast charging that can be charged up to 100% in 24 minutes.

According to leaker Digital Chat Station, the company is testing phones with 5500mAh, 6000mAh, 6500mAh, 7000mAh and even 7500mAh with 100W or 120W fast charging.

OnePlus recently introduced the Ace Pro smartphone with a 6100mAh (typical) battery with 100W SuperVOOC fast charging that can be fully charged in 36 minutes.

Battery technology is evolving in a rapid pace. Several companies such as OnePlus and HONOR have started using silicon-carbon negative electrode battery that offer high energy density in a small size. However, several companies are limiting the charging to 100W or 120W after trying 150W in some phones.
