Qualcomm celebrates Independence Day with Free 5G Training for Indian professionals


On the occasion of Independence Day, Qualcomm Technologies announced that it will offer its 5G training program for free to professionals across India.

Qualcomm Academy 5G University Program

This initiative allows any resident in India to register for the Qualcomm Academy 5G University Program, typically reserved for university students. While students access it for free, industry professionals usually pay Rs. 41,000 for the training.

The program, designed for students, engineers, and business professionals, offers eight hours of online, self-paced learning on 5G technology, taught by leading engineers from Qualcomm Technologies.

5G Primer

This course provides a foundational understanding of 5G technology and its strategic applications. Participants will gain insights into:

  • The basics of wireless and cellular communication
  • The evolution and vision of 5G NR (New Radio)
  • 5G enabling technologies such as advanced channel coding, massive MIMO, and mobile mmWave
  • Key networking features and real-world applications, including smart cities and C-V2X (Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything)

Fundamentals of Cellular Communication and 5G

This course covers the basics of cellular communication and the fundamentals of 5G. It includes:

  • An overview of wireless and cellular communication
  • The evolution of technology from 4G LTE to 5G
  • Key features and use cases of 5G
