boAt today announced that it has crossed the 5-crore mark in ‘Made in India’ products. This comes a year after the company reported 2.5 crore ‘Made in India’ units.
boAt said that it currently manufactures 70-75% of its audio and smart wearable products within India. boAt’s JV with Dixon Technologies, Califonix, has played a pivotal role in scaling up production and creating new job opportunities in the country, said the company.
The collaboration has enabled boAt to optimize its supply chain, reduce lead times, and enhance product quality and reduce dependency on other countries, it added.
boAt is also investing in localising R&D with the boAt Labs. It has partnership with Google Inc, Qualcomm, Dolby, CEVA, Mimi Hearing Technologies and more.
The company said that it will continue to invest in research and development, expand its manufacturing footprint, and create products that delight consumers worldwide.
